About the department
The department separated from the Sanitary Engineering department in 1971 as “Water Supply and Sewerage”, beginning work under the leadership of F.F. Ziyamuxamedova. From 1976 to 1983 it was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor N.J. Jumagulov; in those years Professor P.I. Smirnov and a number of senior lecturers taught here and many young specialists joined the staff.
From 1996 the department operated as “Construction of Engineering Networks”; in 2005 it merged with the department of Chemistry and Fundamentals of Ecology to become “Water Supply, Chemistry and Protection of Water Basins”; and since 2023 it has carried the name “Environmental Engineering”.
