About the department
The Faculty of Architecture separated from the Construction faculty of the Samarkand State Architecture and Construction Institute in 1969.
Today more than 100 teachers work at the faculty. Its senior scholars — A.S. Uralov, K.D. Raximov, D.N. Sultanova and Sh.M. Abduraimov — sit on the specialised academic council of the Tashkent Architecture and Construction University. Professors A.S. Uralov and E.M. Muhammadiyev, holders of the honorary titles “Merited Youth Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and “Merited Art Worker of Uzbekistan”, are the faculty's pride.
Since 1998 the faculty has run postgraduate study in speciality 18.00.01 — Theory and History of Architecture and Restoration of Architectural Monuments, with a doctoral programme since 2000. In 2023 the academic council PhD.26/26.01.2023.A.109.05, empowered to award the PhD degree, was established at the university.
As an academic and administrative unit of the university, the faculty teaches students in its directions of study, runs the educational process as a coherent whole and coordinates the research of its departments.
