The Urban Design and Planning department has been active since 1979, when it was founded within the department of Architectural Design.
Today it employs 13 teaching staff: one professor, five associate professors, six senior lecturers and one assistant. The department's share of staff holding degrees is 31 percent, and the average age of its teachers is 45. More than 230 bachelor's students, 5 master's students, 4 doctoral students and 1 postgraduate researcher currently study at the department.
It trains specialists in the bachelor's directions 60731500 — Urban Construction and Design and 60730200 — Organisation and Management of Urban Construction and Communal Infrastructure, and in the master's speciality 70730202 — Urban Transport Economy and Communications.
