Graduates of 1975 from Samarkand State Technical University gathered again in their alma mater half a century later!
Rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz warmly congratulated the honoured graduates who had come from various countries around the world, calling the reunion a symbol of learning, loyalty and shared values.
The event was also attended by Abror Gadayev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation, Sherzod Uzoqov, Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Moral and Educational Work, and students.
Graduate Rashid Munirovich Yanbulatov (Moscow) shared his warm memories:
“I studied here from 1970 to 1975. To stand again, fifty years on, within these magnificent buildings is an incomparable feeling! Back then the most qualified teachers from across the whole Union taught us. This institution's reputation was known to everyone! It has produced specialists of world standing. I myself went on to work as a builder and chief engineer at major enterprises in Uzbekistan and later in Yugoslavia and Russia, and on military projects for the Ministry of Defence.”
At the close of the event the graduates presented keepsake gifts to the university museum, and the university in turn presented them with mementoes.
This reunion has become a symbol of the continuity between generations, of the teacher–student tradition, and of loyalty.
