These days, practical sessions are being held within the UNESCO Knowledge for Change (K4C) — Mentor Training Program (MTP), organised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In these practical sessions, participants were introduced to the conservation of historical monuments, the preservation of cultural-heritage sites, and social-research and development initiatives carried out in areas of Malaysia inhabited by indigenous communities.
Organised by the UNESCO Mizan K4C Hub, the sessions showcased work being done to preserve historical monuments in Ipoh and ensure their sustainability, as well as efforts to improve the living standards of local communities in remote areas of Perak province.
During the sessions, participants exchanged views on the practical significance of the “Communiversity” concept — uniting the university and the community into a single system — and on the role of UNESCO's programmes in regional integration and community development.
