On 28–29 May the first forum of rectors of higher-education institutions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, “Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan: priority directions for developing cooperation in higher education”, was held at Andijan State University.
Juramirza Qayumov, First Vice-Rector for strategic development of Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University, took part in the forum.
Cooperation memorandums were signed with three prominent Azerbaijani universities — Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
The forum also reached agreements on setting up joint faculties and research centres between the institutions, and gave the rectors the chance to exchange experience and hold open discussions.
