As part of “National Dress Week”, a round-table discussion on “National identity, the pride of a nation” was held at Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University to promote the Uzbek people's rich cultural heritage, customs and, in particular, its traditions of national dress.
The discussion noted that national dress embodies not only outward appearance but the history, philosophy of life and values of our people. It was noted that such initiatives play a major role in helping young people recognise their national identity and form a spirit of respect for their own culture.
