A delegation from the Czech Technical University in Prague, a leading higher-education institution of the Czech Republic, visited Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University.
The delegation comprised Karel Pavelka, head of the international relations department of the Czech Technical University in Prague, and Karel Vach, a professor at the university.
During the meeting the two sides discussed: establishing international cooperation between the universities; setting up student exchange programmes; upgrading the qualifications of academic staff; and developing joint research projects and cooperating on international grant programmes.
At the end of the talks a bilateral memorandum of understanding was signed. The document creates a solid legal basis for long-term, productive academic and research ties between the two universities.
