A “report-and-election conference on the fulfilment of the 2024 collective agreement of the university's primary trade union committee for staff and students” was held at Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University.
The event was attended by the university's rector, Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz; Suxrob Rafikov, chairman of the Samarkand regional council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan; Nodirjon Dehqonov, deputy chairman of Uzbekistan's trade union of metallurgy and machine-building industries; and university staff.
The conference discussed the fulfilment in 2024 of the collective agreement planned for 2023–2026. At the end, by secret ballot, Bahodir Elmurodov, associate professor of the Department of Information Technology, was elected chairman of the university's primary trade union committee for staff and students.
